È qui che entra in gioco Blackwake. L'ho scaricato la settimana scorsa dopo aver visto alcuni thread di Reddit a riguardo e, onestamente, è uno dei giochi multiplayer più di nicchia ma davvero divertenti che ho provato ultimamente. Non è appariscente, ma ha fascino, soprattutto se ti piacciono il lavoro di squadra e la strategia.

The good stuff

The real highlight is how every role matters. I played as a gunner once, and man, lining up that broadside while dodging cannon fire was tense as hell. But then I tried being the navigator, and suddenly I was plotting courses through stormy weather, yelling “left ten degrees!” to my crew. It’s not just about blowing things up - it’s about coordination. You can’t win solo. And when your team finally pulls off a perfectly timed ramming maneuver, it feels like a real victory. The Age of Sail setting isn’t just cosmetic either - the wind, waves, and ship physics make each battle feel unique. Plus, it runs surprisingly well on Mac without any hiccups.

The not-so-good

It’s definitely rough around the edges. No tutorial beyond “click here, shoot there,” so new players might get lost at first. Also, the matchmaking is hit or miss - sometimes I’d queue up and wait five minutes for a match, other times I’d jump in with strangers who didn’t know what a “belay” was. And yeah, the developer is unknown, which makes me wonder about long-term support. It’s free, so I’m not mad, but don’t expect polish or constant updates. If you’re someone who needs everything spelled out or wants a polished AAA experience, this isn’t for you.
