You can see fans waving flags, kids holding up signs. And the commentary? Real-sounding. No robotic voice acting. They even have press conferences after matches, which sounds silly but actually adds weight to your career mode. I made my character go from a local club player to representing India in the T20 World Cup, and the cutscenes between games made me feel like I’d earned it. The photogrammetry on players is sharp too - every facial feature, every scar, feels like it came from a real photo. It’s not perfect, but it’s the most immersive cricket game I’ve played on console.

The not-so-good

But yeah, the AI can be… weird. Sometimes the fielders stand in the same spot for ten overs. Or they’ll throw the ball straight at the batsman like they’re trying to hit him. And the difficulty settings? They’re adjustable, sure, but there’s no real middle ground. Either it’s “Easy” and the opposition barely tries, or “Hard” and you’re getting bowled out in 80. I don’t know why the AI keeps switching between lazy and over-aggressive. Also, the game doesn’t let you tweak bowling line and length beyond basic controls - if you want precision, you’re out of luck. And honestly, the lack of online multiplayer options is a bummer. You can play against bots, but that gets stale fast.
