TV PDF Viewer for Android

So you’ve got a pile of PDFs on a USB drive and want to flip through them on your big screen without fumbling with a phone or laptop. That’s where this app comes in - it’s literally just a PDF reader made for Android TV. I tried it after getting tired of plugging in a tablet just to view some work docs during a family movie night. It found my USB drive right away, which was nice, and showed thumbnails so I could see what each file was without opening it. That part actually worked well.

The good stuff

The interface is clean and simple, which matters when you’re using a remote. No weird menus or hidden settings. You can jump to any page by typing the number - super useful if you're referencing a specific section in a long report. The text search feature saved me once when I couldn’t remember where a particular clause was in a 50-page contract. And yeah, night mode is real - it dims the screen just enough so I don’t wake up the dog when I’m reading late. Also, it auto-scans USB drives every time you plug one in, which means no extra steps. That’s a win.

The not-so-good

But here’s the thing - it’s basically the same as the default PDF viewer on most Android TVs, just with slightly better thumbnail previews. There’s no annotation tool, no document sharing, no cloud integration. If you’re trying to mark up a PDF or send it somewhere, you’re out of luck. And the developer? Unknown. No updates in over a year. That’s a red flag if you’re relying on this for work. Also, importing files via FTP or web links? The app says it supports it, but I couldn’t get it to work at all. Might be my setup, but still - it didn’t feel reliable. And if you’re used to something like Xodo or Adobe Acrobat on mobile, this feels undercooked.

Bottom line

If you have a bunch of PDFs on a USB stick and just want to glance at them on your TV without a phone, this app gets the job done. But it’s not special. It’s free, which helps, but honestly, you might as well use whatever’s already on your TV. Save yourself the download unless you’re stuck with a barebones device that has nothing else. Otherwise, skip it.
