Xpolyglot for Web Apps

The good stuff

What really stood out was the delta update feature. I changed one sentence in my app’s settings screen - like “Enable dark mode” to “Toggle dark theme” - and Xpolyglot only pulled that one string for translation. Saved me hours compared to re-translating the whole thing every time. Also, the metadata management is smooth. I updated my app description in English, and it auto-applied the same changes across all other languages. No more manually copying text into 10 different files. And it’s notarized by Apple - which means I don’t have to worry about it being sketchy when I’m uploading to the App Store.

The not-so-good

It’s built for Xcode projects, so if you’re working with Flutter, React Native, or any non-Apple stack, this won’t help. And yeah, it needs an OpenAI API key - so if you’re on a tight budget or hate API keys, this might be a pain. The UI is functional but barebones. No bells and whistles. Also, no free tier - you gotta pay or use your own API credits. If you’re a solo dev testing things out, that could be a barrier. And honestly? The name is a bit of a mouthful. “Xpolyglot for Web Apps” doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue.

Bottom line

If you’re a developer using Xcode and want faster, smarter translations without hiring translators every time, Xpolyglot for Web Apps is worth trying. It’s not perfect, but it cuts out the worst parts of localization. For $10 a month or so, it’s cheaper than half a freelancer’s hourly rate. Go ahead and give it a shot - especially if you’re tired of sending strings back and forth. Just make sure you’ve got an OpenAI key ready. And hey, if you’re not in the Apple ecosystem, look elsewhere.
